The last day of 2009 was a rough day at the Khosla house. However, it had a great ending! First the bad. Mira and I took Tarik into the pediatrician for what we thought would be a routine check-up. While examining Tarik our pediatrician discovered that Tarik has a gallop rhythm which is a (usually abnormal) rhythm of the heart. Our pediatrician sent us straight to the pediatric cardiologist. Tarik had an echo done, chest x-ray and seven vials of blood drawn. It was a very stressful day for all of us. Deven cancelled his surgery and big sis was a huge help and support. The picture below is of Mira and Tarik at the hospital.
Now the good! Tarik appears to be healthy. The echo showed a normal healthy heart! Huge relief. Once we returned home Sasha, Owen, Kirsten and Mike came over. We had a yummy dinner with good friends. The kids opened Christmas gifts (except Tarik who was already asleep). Mira decoarated a gingerbread house supplied by Kirsten and then we went to sleep at 1130 pm. Although, Mira claims she made it to midnight before falling asleep.
